Experiments

Things I make in my own time, mostly with code and mostly in an evening or a weekend. Some are useful, some are jokes.

  1. Qibla Line

Finds the Qibla without trusting your phone's compass: line the map up with a wall of your room, then turn until it says you're facing Mecca.

  2. Glyphtone

Rebuilds any picture out of thousands of tiny icons and exports it as vector for large-format print. Runs in the browser.

  3. Tiny Typer

A typing toy for toddlers: every key drops a big, bouncy letter in bright colours.

  4. Tiny Fingers

My 3D reimagining of tinyfingers.net, the original typing toy, made for my son: every key sends a character tumbling across the screen.

  5. Karak Calculator

Converts any price in dirhams into cups of karak chai.

  6. Ad Agency Jargon Translate

Google Translate for ad agencies: type something plain and get it back as agency, boardroom or LinkedIn jargon.

  7. Will My Toddler Eat This?

    A very scientific food predictor.

  8. cxusage

A terminal app for exploring your own Codex usage, for teams without the cloud dashboard.

  9. Sigiriya: The Lion Rock

A four-minute animated film about King Kashyapa I, drawn and animated entirely in code. No images, no video files.
